Chain of custody – Data verifi cation of the journey of a slide, revealing who created it, who approved it, who moved it to the next step in the presentation workfl ow, who has used it, who has shared it, who has viewed it, and more.
Compliance – There are two primary types of compliance. Brand compliance refers to consistency in the look and feel of graphics, fonts, and logos as well as the rules and codes of conduct that a business implements internally to ensure high operating standards. Regulatory/ legal compliance refers to the rules and regulations set by regulatory government agencies that a company must adhere to, mostly in regard to approved verbiage (e.g., proper disclosures).

Hoarders – American reality television series on A&E that depicts the real-life struggles and treatment of people who suffer from compulsive hoarding disorder. Similarly, “slide hoarders” are people who gather and keep all of their slides, whether they are up to date and useful or not.
Marc Benioff – The Co-founder, Chairman, and Co-CEO of Salesforce, an enterprise cloud computing company that was also the first SaaS business.
Nancy Duarte – A writer, speaker, expert in presentation design, and CEO of Duarte Design.
Parent–child relationship – The relationship between the original published slide (parent) and a duplicate (child) that is reused in a new presentation. In a Structured Story, that relationship is linked and tracked, which yields data that reveals the genealogy of a slide.
Pitchman9 – Multimedia presentation software that was the foundation for iXL in the late 1990s. In 2000, James spun out Pitchman to create a new company, Iguana Interactive.
